''The NYPD Did Not Do A Thorough Investigation''
The family of late music manager Chris Lighty is seeking further investigation into the circumstances surrounding Lighty's apparent suicide. The family has launched a petition urging that certain forensic tests be conducted that were not taken care of at the time of the famed industry mainstay's August 2012 death. “The main problem that we encountered was that the NYPD did not do a thorough investigation into Chris’ death, Attorney Scott Leemon said in a statement. “In fact, what they did do was cursory, at best. Leemon states that a gunpowder residue test was not conducted at the death scene, nor was a DNA test conducted on the weapon used in the death. “We have uncovered real information that needs to be followed up on by those in authority," said Lighty's mother. The family's petition is available to sign at iPetition. |
