UGOTWAX REVIEW: Rick Ross- Teflon Don
by:
UGOTWAX ADMIN
Teflon Don
UGOTWAX Rating: 8/10
When you think about Florida, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it the fact at how it’s the sunshine state? Disney World or even Universal Studios? Beaches? Orang es? Perhaps maybe just a state that is just made for retirees; Having no substan ce, bu t just beauty.
How about Florida in terms of music? I’m sure people like Uncle Luke and the Slip-N-Slid family comes to surface.
When it comes to Florida, I guess no one really thinks about talent and struggle like how they would of Georgia, New York, and even California. These states were chosen because some of raps greatest artists are natives.
Well, perhaps Florida has produced another one of raps greatest?
The “Bawse” is back! Rick Ross that is. Since his last album in 2009 with Deeper Than Rap, he makes yet another album Teflon Don(Maybach Music) that will be sure to have hip-hop heads loving this one! A summer banger full of possible classics that will keep the ears of many wanting more.
Teflon Don was released on Tuesday, July 20th, and has already lit up many topics of conversation relating to his album. Topics like what, you may ask. Well, let’s start off with the collaborations.
In my opinion, it seems as though William Leonard Roberts II has more collaborations than tracks on Teflon Don! What’s up with that? Teflon Don offers so much range from artists such as T.I, Jay-Z, Drake, Kanye West, Diddy, Trey Songz, Gucci Mane and oh my goodness the list goes on and on to even Cee-Lo Green, Chrisette Michele, Ne-Yo, Styles P, Raphael Saadiq, Erykah Badu, and honestly this list still goes on!
How about those tracks? One that stands out towards many listeners is the track with Jay-Z and John Legend, “Free Mason”. You should check out the blog sites concerning this record! Fans are going in, literally! Some fans think that Jay-Z uses this record as a venting piece about him being sinister. If you ask me, I think some fans paid the most attention to this record, don’t believe me, just Google it!
Moreover, “MC Hammer” featuring Gucci Mane is an interesting track! I suppose the name tells you what exactly Rick Ross could be talking about. MC Hammer huh? What is the first thing you think about when you hear that name? Perhaps money going down the drain? I don’t know just a thought.
While others may see this emcee as creating a classic work of art, the best in professional ratings ranked Teflon Don averaging at a B-. Hey, I was always taught that a B was “Good”.
With that said, check it out and see for yourself! Ricky Ross…aka the Bawse!
