Hailing from Jacksonville Florida better known as Duval county Grand Prix officially began going hard in 2003 recording his first demo. In 2004 Grand Prix went full steam ahead releasing two mixtapes ("the fall is mine" *fall 2004* and "the spring is mine" *fall 2005* with his target audience being FAMU where he was attending school at the time. Thru the two mixtapes, internet/street promotions, and on campus battles Grand Prix quickly became a campus favorite on the Rap scene leading to interviews by the campus radio (90.5) and Grand Prix being one of the opening acts at the premiere spring event @ famu, "be out day". It would be around this time the Press began to take notice to the artist with the "Kanye west mixed with Ludacris with the florida swagger artist". "Hood Magazine" responded to a 8 bars rap GRAND PRIX had submitted some months prior and wanted him to go against the current "8 bars champ". Grand Prix handed him his 1st defeat to become champ and subsequently when against every competitor until they retired GRAND PRIX as the "8 bars champ" in August 2006. Grand Prix came back to Jacksonville and began going hard and by mid year 2007 Grand Prix was nominated for his first award "best new artist" @ the Gainesville Music summit, had been featured in atlantas "hot block magazine" and had been featured on 2 hood conference cds. Going into 2008 Grand Prix has continued his rise to the top. Grand Prix was featured in "Ozone Magazine" (superbowl edition) and mentioned in the pages multiple times, Atlanta's "Street Talk Newz" Newspaper, Hood Magazine neighborhood watch, Jacksonville's "Street Talk News". Grand Prix single of 2008 "Swagger music" made found its way to soundtrack to the movie "ten dead men", and debuted @ number 32 on the www.recordpoolcharts.com charts. Grand Released an EP "The Last Dragon" on itunes later that year. In 2009 a year when many quit the music industry grand prix went harder than ever being nominated for his first S.E.A. award as well as being nominated for 5 duval diamond awards by bigga rankin. (breakout artist, duval artist, duval song, internet promoter and street promoter). Entering 2010 Grand Prix's latest single "bam it girl" is being played in the mix show on 93.3 by core dj dr. doom as well as picking up momentum in the north florida/south georgia region. Grand Prix is truly on pace to solidify his alias of "Duvals Champ".
