MUSIC NEWS: JANET JACKSON TALKS NEW MUSIC w/ BILLBOARD

It’s been five years since the release of Janet Jackson’s last album, and on the 20th anniversary of her legendary fifth studio album, janet., she decides to take an exclusive sit down with Billboard Magazine.

In addition to talking about the impact of that album, she also reveals some information about a new project.

I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music. I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don’t want to rush it… I don’t want to put a time constraint on the creative process. [SOURCE]

Although not confirmed as his single, Kiss Land is the title track from his upcoming album, which is slated for release later this year. Check out this eight minute song above!

MUSIC VIDEO: TGT – “SEX NEVER FELT BETTER”

The men of TGT finally debut their first video since they band together back in 2007!

Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank give you the visual for their single, “Sex Never Felt Better,” the lead off from the group’s presently untitled debut album, which is slated to release some time later this year. The group has inked a deal with Atlantic Records, so it’s only a matter of time before they finally get their project out.

NEW MUSIC: SYLEENA JOHNSON & MUSIQ SOULCHILD – “FEEL THE FIRE”

Seems as though Syleena Johnson has joined the likes of soul crooner Musiq Soulchild for a track entitled, “Feel the Fire.” The song is the first single from their duet album, entitled 9INE, due out July 9th.

You can also catch Syleena on the new season of R&B Divas on TVOne, every Wednesday evening at 10 Eastern time.

MUSIC NEWS: D. WOODS WILL NOT RETURN FOR DANITY KANE REUNION

In what seemed to get fans in a frenzy earlier this week, four original members of Danity Kane sat down and had lunch with new management about a possible reunion, which is rumored to include a new album and tour.

Fans stayed hopeful and made the assumption that D. Woods (who was the only original member not present at the reunion luncheon), didn’t attend due to prior obligations. But Woods sat the record straight with an exclusive with FreddyO.com. Check out what she had to say:

It has been brought to my attention that my former group members of Danity Kane will be reuniting and while I will not be a part of the reunion; I wish the ladies blessings and much success on their endeavors.

She also added:

Although we understand moving on and wanting to press forward with other opportunities, it’s a little disappointing and disheartening that D. is not returning for the reunion. It will probably still happen, and probably still be great, considering that the group, while still together, performed several times as a foursome anyway.

Danity Kane rose to fame on MTV and Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Making the Band series and have two studio albums to date.

NEW MUSIC: CIARA FEAT. FUTURE & B.O.B. – “BODY PARTY (REMIX)”

In what seems to be a hit for Ciara, she releases a remix to her latest single, “Body Party.” She adds her boyfriend Future and fellow Atlanta representer B.O.B. into the mix, as producer Mike Will Made It beefs up the Ghost Town DJ’s sample of their classic hit, “My Boo.”

Her new self-titled album, Ciara is slated to hit stores July 5th (in Australia) and July 9th (in the US).

NEW MUSIC: BOBBY V – “BACK TO LOVE”

Bobby V is back with a new grown and sexy track. The singer-songwriter recently found a new love in the piano and has incorporated a live band for this new sound.

The track “Back To Love” will be featured on his upcoming EP, “Peach Moon” and according to the press release, the 33 year-old is now embracing his southern roots with a new sound-scape. Listen above.

NEW MUSIC: KELLY ROWLAND – “DIRTY LAUNDRY”

In what some may think is a shocking turn of events, Kelly Rowland gets really candid about life post Destiny’s Child on her third single, “Dirty Laundry.”

She talks about her relationship with Bey, her bout with domestic violence in a romantic relationship and just loads a lot on us that we never knew!

“Dirty Laundry”, written by The Dream, is lifted from Kelly Rowland’s upcoming LP, Talk A Good Game. It’ll be interesting to see what the visual for this song gives, especially with the song’s dark subject matter.

Talk A Good Game arrives June 18th, and she kicks off the Lights Off tour with The Dream on May 23 in Minneapolis.

TV BIT: ROBIN THICKE, PHARRELL & T.I. PERFORM “BLURRED LINES” ON ‘THE VOICE’

R&B’s Robin Thicke made his long-awaited return to the stage on NBC’s The Voice Tuesday night (May 14). The blue-eyed crooner brought along super producer Pharrell Williams and Atlanta rapper T.I. to light up the popular show with their performance of “Blurred Lines.”
