Drake, Nicki Minaj Win Big
Amber Rose revealed her pregnancy, Alicia Keys took the stage with a gold medalist, and host Kevin Hart kept everyone from taking the party too seriously at 2012 MTV Video Music Awards last night (September 6th) at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Hart's opening barb about the infamous Drake/Chris Brown brawl may not have been a homerun for the Young Money crew, but Wayne & Co. won big at the 2012 VMAs. Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne had little reaction when Hart joked: "Nip it in the bud, guys. I'm tired of it. Fix it tonight." Nonetheless, the label enjoyed a banner night. Chris Brown won for Best Male Video, with his self-directed vid "Turn Up The Music." Drake and Lil Wayne's "HYFR" won for Best Hip Hop Video and fellow Young Money star Nicki Minaj won best female video for "Starships." Coldplay won Best Rock Video for "Paradise." |
